And Tandy has drafted them in with his youngsters' development in mind, as experience will be needed in the midst of a crammed international rugby calendar next season.
Before the Ospreys look ahead to the autumn however they have much still to play for in the GUINNESS PRO12, just ahead of Leinster in fourth as the play-off race turns into its final straight over the next month.
The Welsh region's next challenge is Benetton Treviso this Friday but as far as their long-term plans are concerned, Tandy is predicting a bright future.
"We'd anticipate a lot of our players being involved in (the international) tournaments, so the challenge has been to bring in a few players who can help accelerate the development of our youngsters," Tandy told the South Wales Evening Post.
"Gareth Delve, Paul James and Brendon Leonard will do that.
"How good is it going to be for someone like Olly Cracknell to play alongside a player like Gareth Delve, who has played rugby all over the world at a high level? How much is Tom Habberfield going to learn off Brendon Leonard by being alongside him?
"Paul is still an international player and he is going to help all the props we have at the region.
"We thought long and hard about our recruitment. We have looked into the characters of the players and we believe they fit what we are about."
