The defending champions now trail Clermont by five points after three matches meaning a failure to secure victory at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday would leave them teetering on the brink of elimination.
A bonus point win would appear to put them in the box seat however, but Easterby insists all that matters is securing victory.
"There's a lot been made about the five points between us, but we cannot become sidetracked by that," Easterby told the Irish Independent.
"We have to go out and win the game, whatever happens after that, so be it."
If Leinster fail to top their pool they can still go through as one of the two runners-up to proceed, but Easterby is not concerning himself with potential permutations.
"Those two spots are also available," he added. "As I said, though, we'll go out to win the game and see what happens then."
