They currently sit atop the GUINNESS PRO12 table, 12 points clear of defending champions Leinster in fifth, with just three games remaining.
Clashes with Connacht, Ospreys and Ulster are yet to come but Gregor Townsend's troops look set to end the campaign in the top four.
And as Seymour admits they must now take the next step in the play-offs, he is adamant that previous disappointments can only stand them in good stead.
"Practice makes perfect," Seymour told the Glasgow Evening Times. "Ideally you would not play three semi-finals and a final, you would go straight to the final on the first occasion and win it.
"But we have had experience now of being in the play-offs over the last number of years and those experiences harden you to that environment and make you more aware of what might happen.
"It stands you in good stead and you can drive on from there. That's the important thing, to drive on, otherwise you are in the same position.
"As long as we can move on and finish in a better position than the year before then we are going the right way."
