But Ospreys did it the hard way - they weren't ahead until the 45th minute before a blitz of points secured them a much-needed bonus point.
"We're happy with the result but we're not happy with the way we got there," admitted the Welsh second row.
"There was a bit too much emotion around the occasion at the start and we didn't get into the game until the 30th minute really.
"If we're honest we weren't clinical enough at times. There was a large proportion of the game where we were pretty lacklustre. There were 15 turnovers in the first half and only five in the second half and that tells you something.
"We did well to get there in the end but we're well aware that if we play like that in the next two games we're not going to get a home semi-final in the play-offs."
And it doesn't get any easier for Ospreys as they seek a top-two league position that will secure a home semi-final.
League leaders Glasgow Warriors are visitors to the Liberty Stadium on May 8 and then they travel to Connacht eight days later.
"We will need to play better against Glasgow," added Jones. "We are in the play-offs, but it's obviously a case of where we end up in the play-offs."
