Jones' side managed just one try - through young centre Tyler Morgan - but the Dragons boss is determined not to see his players' heads drop.
Until the Edinburgh clash, the Dragons had won 12 of their last 17 games in all competitions and Jones is still confident in is young charges - despite a disappointing Judgement Day.
"That does not make us a bad side," he said after the Scarlets defeat. "We are still a good side but we didn't prove that.
"The standard of rugby at this level needs to be better. Every individual needs to bring more responsibility to the game.
"It's a very interdependent sport where you rely so heavily on people doing their role, doing their job correctly.
"The negative is that they don't have experience around them to help and nurture their game. The positive is they're on the field and experiencing it. They're going to become good players."
