Now Edinburgh are on the brink of making history of their own, after becoming the first Scottish team to reach a European rugby final.
The face Gloucester at the Twickenham Stoop after powering past GUINNESS PRO12 rivals Newport Gwent Dragons in the semi-finals.
And Visser believes Edinburgh getting their hands on the trophy would match those legendary triumphs with the round ball.
"Us winning would stand alongside those achievements," said the 27-year-old. "For the sport it is just as big as those moments.
"It is easy to compare football to rugby, football being the majority sport in most countries.
"We will try to block out the sense of history, finals take care of themselves. This is one of the pinnacles of anyone's career to get to a European final.
"We have beaten Bordeaux and Lyon away and London Irish. These are the games that instil confidence and make us believe we can win the trophy."
