The 21-year-old, who had just ten PRO12 appearances to his name before this season, is leading Edinburgh towards a top-six finish after making his Scotland debut in February.
Since taking over the kicking duties in the Scottish capital he has 78 GUINNESS PRO12 points in his last seven games as well as collecting a mammoth 25-point haul in Edinburgh's European semi-final victory over Newport Gwent Dragons.
Priority number one for the Spanish-born scrum-half will be guiding Edinburgh to next season's Champions Cup but there is no doubt that a bright future for club and country awaits.
