If all goes to plan Ulster will be returning to the Kingspan twice in the play-offs - but Munster are gaining a head of steam after three consecutive wins.
Neil Doak's men are on a similar run and knocked champions Leinster out of play-off contention last time out, with South Africa's Pienaar at his influential best after kicking 16 points.
And fellow scrum-half Murray, who has scored two tries in his last three GUINNESS PRO12 games, can't wait to lock horns with the South African once more.
"The last time I played against him for Munster was the Heineken Cup quarter-final here (Thomond Park) a few years ago and I don't think I've started a game up in Kingspan Stadium yet," Murray said.
"It's always a great challenge to play against Ruan. I played against him for Ireland a couple of years ago and watching him up close he's an impressive operator. It's another big challenge and one that I'm looking forward to.
"We need to hit the ground running this weekend, especially against a team like Ulster - a very confident side who really know what they are doing when they go out and play, especially up in Belfast where they seem that bit more physical and harder to break down."
