The result pushed Wayne Pivac's side into the GUINNESS PRO12 top six ahead of this weekend's trip to Italy, and despite now needing just two points to be guaranteed a place in Europe's top competition, Owens is adamant it will be business as usual this week.
"It was a particularly hard game, as derbies always are," he told Scarlets' website. "The Blues have had quite a disappointing season but they turned up and had star players right across the park.
"We're happy with the four points in what was a tough derby clash.
"It was nice to cross the line for the try - the pack showed great determination and perserverance for that try and it secured the win for us. It showed confidence in the pack to keep going for it.
"But whatever happened on Sunday we knew we'd have to go to Treviso and get the win. Our thought process doesn't change at all. We want to go there and get the victory."
Sunday's clash was also Priestland's last at Parc y Scarlets after a ten-year tenure in Llanelli, and with 11 points from the tee he signed off with 1095 points, and leaves the Scarlets as their top-scorer having played 156 games.
And after being given a standing ovation at the end of the game he admitted it was far from a vintage performance.
He said: "We're really hoping we can finish in the top six. It was nice to get the victory, we didn't play particularly well but we got the win.
"It was far from a polished performance but it was important that we lifted ourselves for that game and secured a result for next season and for the guys staying."
