The Warriors are used to international absentees, they had to cope during the Six Nations earlier this year as Vern Cotter drew the majority of his Scotland squad from Glasgow.
But they coped admirably, youngsters like Fraser Lyle and Ali Price stepping up to the plate in the absence of their bigger name stars.
And Murchie, who has made 93 appearances for the club, cannot wait to see what the next generation have to offer when the new season gets underway.
"We have got a lot of guys away but we have also got a lot of experience still here," he said.
"Last year during the Six Nations we had a lot of people away but guys stepped up, people like Fraser Lyle, Ali Price, young guys played brilliantly. There is more where that came from.
"It's a challenge to have people away but we have been working hard in pre-season, perhaps the hardest we have worked, and it's important that we make a good start.
"Probably as many as 25 guys from the academy have stepped up and will make an impact in this period.
"That's what you need in this situation and we are looking forward to it."
