And with the GUINNESS PRO12 just six days away from returning it represents a timely boost for Solomons, as he eyes up a fast start against Leinster.
"Of course the players [cut from the Scotland squad] were disappointed but these things happen," said Solomons.
"Vern can only take 31 players but because of the spirit we've got and togetherness we have at the club, the boys just slotted back in and they're happy to be back with their team-mates and you could see that.
"This win on the back of the Romanian win will generate confidence. The Irish provinces are incredibly strong so we're expecting a tough game against Leinster but we'll be ready for it."
Winger Otulea Katoa was on the scoresheet in his first start for the club against Ulster, while replacement Magnus Bradbury also crossed.
Nathan Fowles and Jack Cuthbert shared the rest of the points off the tee and Solomons admitted his side had to roll with the punches before coming out stronger in the second half.
"The first 35 minutes, Ulster were on top and we made mistakes - we had kicks charged down, gave away penalties, lost a lineout and they retained possession really well," added Solomons.
"We did a lot of tackling and I thought the boys really showed a lot of heart and hung in there.
"There was a momentum shift in the last five minutes of the first half, with the two tries, and the lads that came on carried on that momentum and I thought we had the better of the second half."
