The only blot on their card was a narrow 29-20 defeat to Scarlets on August 21 but Landman has been pleased with the side's progress.
So much so the 29-year-old is predicting a fast start to the GUINNESS PRO12 campaign - starting this Friday away to Connacht.
"I think we can upset a lot of teams who have players away at the World Cup," he told the South Wales Argus. "We have a side which has been together and players who know each other well.
"We are a settled side now. Lyn (Jones, director of rugby) says we have a squad that comprises of 85 per cent of what it was last season."
Connacht will also fancy their chances off the back of an impressive 28-12 victory over Munster in their final warm-up game on August 21.
And the Irish province have been busy adding to their ranks in recent days, with the addition of Limerick-born back Ed O'Keeffe to the Academy.
The 20-year-old played his club rugby with Young Munster RFC but has impressed Connacht's coaches to earn a move.
And O'Keeffe admits he is looking forward to the challenge: "I'm delighted to get this opportunity. The training has been tough but this is what I want to do - training three times a day in a professional environment.
"I've really enjoyed getting to know all of the lads, and it's good to catch up with the likes of Rory Parata and Jack Dinneen who I would have played against at school."
Edinburgh, meanwhile, kick-off their season at home to Leinster on Friday night and centre Chris Dean is keen to take his chance.
With Matt Scott in the Scotland squad and new signing Michael Allen recovering from injury, the 21-year-old could feature from the start at Meggetland and he says he is fully prepared.
"I do feel more mature, and I feel more ready than I probably was last year," he told the Edinburgh Evening Times. "I'm just looking to build on games and hopefully get more opportunities this season.
"It's unfortunate for Mikey (Allen), but opportunities do arise from that. I have to grab that with both hands and stake a claim for that jersey."
