His reign begins against the Italian club on Sunday at the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park, with kick-off at 2.30pm.
"We've had a good discussion with players about this opening block of games and where we are in our journey at the moment," Wilson told the Blues website.
"We have come together as a new group of players and coaches and we are very early in that process.
"We have looked at players in pre-season friendlies and this is the first chance in league matches and with that comes the added pressures.
"It is another step on the ladder for us, but don't get me wrong, we want to win. It is a home game and we want to win every home game and are creating a game plan do to so.
"It's an exciting time for us and I hope we get a good crowd in on Sunday and can give them what they want on day one."
