Nacewa, who initially retired at the end of the 2012/2013 season before penning a one-year contract back at Leinster this summer, played a part in both of his side's pre-season wins over Ulster and Moseley.
In the first of this season's episodes of Across The Laighin - on Leinster's YouTube channel - he speaks of his excitement ahead of competitive return to action.
And though Leinster remain a work in progress under the newly-appointed Leo Cullen, 33-year-old Nacewa believes the game at Edinburgh can prove that first important step.
"We're just building for Edinburgh. We have to take it a week at a time," said the utility back.
"That's the beauty of what Leo has done in the last two months. The shape of the season isn't in the front of our minds. It's about Edinburgh, and that's how we need to prepare.
"Combinations grow and we've only had two weeks to get those. It's about worrying about the next week. We'll deal with the break when it comes.
"The current group of players that we've got, we've worked hard for this first game. We've built nicely over this whole pre-season.
"But it is important to get away with a good start, definitely through the World Cup period.
"There is no better way than going away from home to do that."
