He has never been one to crave the glory and rarely gets himself over the whitewash - indeed Muldoon has just four league tries in the last eight seasons, all of which happened to arrive in the 2013-14 campaign.
But it is not in the red zone where Muldoon's particular set of skills kicks in, but everywhere else on the pitch.
A tireless workhorse when packing down and in the loose, Muldoon was handed the captaincy at Connacht in 2008 as then head coach Michael Bradley spotted his ability to lead.
That leadership has been a key motif at Connacht ever since and as Pat Lam's side continue to grow in influence in the GUINNESS PRO12, Muldoon is right at the heart of it.
