Yet Doak knows a trip to Parc y Scarlets offers a very different threat and has urged his troops not to get complacent.
"Scarlets are a tough side at home and we know we're going to have to be good," he said. "We were pretty decent for large portions of the game last year and it ended up being a pretty entertaining [32-32] draw.
"Hopefully it's pretty similar to that, only we nick the result this time, but there are definitely areas we need to improve from the game against Ospreys. We'll have to make some adjustments because Scarlets are a slightly different proposition."
The impressive Nelson is more accustomed to playing in the back three but with injuries and international call-ups affecting Ulster, Doak revealed the 22-year-old could continue at No.10.
"We've had a few injuries unfortunately in a pretty critical area, but to be fair to Pete he looked pretty composed on Friday night," added Doak.
"He's got a great skill-set and I thought he handled the game very well. I was very pleased with his kicking, and hopefully that will give him the confidence."
