Giovanbattista Venditti crossed for a try for Jacques Brunel's side but there was little else to cheer in a 32-10 defeat.
This Saturday they take on Canada at Elland Road and Palazzani insists there will be an improved showing from his countrymen.
"As soon as the match against France was over we began to think about the match against Canada. Everything has to be right quickly for our preparation for the match, physically and mentally," he said.
"We will put out the strongest team we can. For a variety of reasons we have to play our best match of the season, this is not in doubt.
"We want to impose ourselves on the match. We want to show that we are an improving team and a strong team. We have to take control and not be arrogant in any way.
"I was hoping to play for longer against France, but Andrea Masi going off so soon meant that Bacchin had to go on, and so Carlo Canna and I had to stay on the bench to save our energy for later."
