USA international Blaine Scully - a summer signing from Leicester Tigers - and Samoa's Rey Lee-Lo have also been involved in the World Cup but Wilson is keen to give all his international contingent sufficient rest.
The Blues put in a solid performance but ultimately went down 35-27 to Munster last weekend and face another trip to Ireland to face Ulster at the Kingspan Stadium this Friday.
But Wilson is focusing on the long-term picture as his troops try to improve on a tenth-place finish in the GUINNESS PRO12 last term.
"We have had a good chat with the Welsh internationals and you have three players - in Sam Warburton, Gethin Jenkins and Alex Cuthbert - who have been on the go since June," he said.
"We will manage them over the next week or two to give them time to get over the relevant knocks and bruises and come back fresh to us.
"Lloyd Williams has not played as much rugby and hopefully he will be back in next week training with us.
"They have come out of a long block of rugby and are about to go into another long block of rugby. We have got to manage these boys correctly.
"We want them back as soon as possible to get some momentum and get them up to speed with the way we are playing.
"First and foremost they have come out of a World Cup period and we would be foolish not to manage them correctly.
"If we can give them the relevant time to be mentally and physically right for us, that will benefit us and they will embrace the changes.
"They are coming into a new system of play and environment. I'm looking forward to getting them back, but they need to get up to speed with what we are doing."
