It means the Scottish side are one of three teams to have a 100 per cent record at this stage.
And Sutherland believes momentum should see them over the line against Zebre on Saturday.
"The Edinburgh camp is really positive at the minute," the 23-year-old said.
"Beating Romania and Ulster in pre-season really helped, as did beating Leinster in the first week.
"The boys are building up confidence, as you do when you win six games on the trot.
"Training is going well, there is a positive attitude about the place and the boys are firing on all cylinders.
"Zebre will be bringing back players from the World Cup and bleeding them back in slowly so I think they will pretty much have a full-strength team out on Saturday.
"It is going to be another tough challenge, the last couple of times we have gone out there we have not been so successful, but we are focused and ready for the challenge ahead."
Sutherland was absent from last weekend's victory over Ulster, after being drafted into the Scotland squad ahead of Sunday's Rugby World Cup quarter-final defeat to Australia.
And though the front-rower did not get a taste of the action at Twickenham, he hopes his first call from Vern Cotter won't be his last.
"It gives me a lot of confidence to know that I am tinkering on the edge of the Scotland squad," he added.
"And it also makes me more hungry getting a taste of what it is like."
