Fresh from victories over both Leinster and Munster, Pivac has already admitted he will rest World Cup stars DTH van der Merwe and Samson Lee.
But the likes of Gareth Davies and Jake Ball could return to action while Wales' star No.8 Taulupe Faletau will be back for the Dragons.
Also on Friday the first of this season's InterPros in Ireland takes place when Thomond Park is the venue for the clash between Munster and Ulster.
Munster lost their unbeaten record last time out and now just two points separate the teams in the table, thanks to Ulster picking up three try bonus points in their games to date.
Paddy Jackson and Darren Cave returned for Ulster last time out but they will be without the injured trio of Tommy Bowe, Iain Henderson and Jared Payne.
Munster meanwhile have given Conor Murray and Keith Earls another week off but could call Simon Zebo and Donnacha Ryan back into action.
On Saturday Zebre face Cardiff Blues in the early kick-off and Connacht against Edinburgh Rugby is the later one.
Zebre took Edinburgh's unbeaten record off them last time out, and have previously completed a season's double over the Blues, so the trip will not be an easy one for the Welsh visitors.
Connacht and Edinburgh have each won four out of five games this campaign, but Connacht sit second in the table thanks to the four bonus points they have picked up along the way.
Round six wraps up with two games on Sunday, Benetton Treviso hosting Leinster and Ospreys travelling to Glasgow Warriors.
The Italian outfit have yet to record their first victory of the season, but Leinster must be wary having drawn in Treviso last year, and lost at the venue back in the 2010/11 season.
Leinster's Ireland stars could return to action although head coach Leo Cullen insists they are each being judged on a case-by-case basis, however If Ian Madigan is one of the Irish stars recalled he will make his 100th PRO12 appearance.
Neither last season's champions Glasgow Warriors nor Play-Off qualifiers Ospreys have made the start they may have wished for and with five rounds already played both will be looking to get their campaigns back on track.
Ospreys have given indications they will slot World Cup star duo Alun Wyn Jones and Dan Biggar straight back into the lineup.
