They now head into European action looking for some positive results before their next GUINNESS PRO12 clash away to Ospreys on November 28.
Warburton was on international duty with Wales for the first part of the campaign but is now back with his club side and determined to help turn things around.
The 27-year-old flanker was part of the Blues side that lifted the European Challenge Cup back in 2010 and he sees more silverware in their future - which he claims will be all the sweeter due to his affinity for the club.
"I'd rather win one trophy here in my career with the people I've grown up and worked with for so long than go somewhere else and come back with something," Warburton told EPCRugby.com.
"When I was offered a senior contract with the Blues that was my dream come true. I am a Cardiff lad, I've grown up here and I love the place.
"When I was a kid I had a season ticket for three years and I used to sit in the top left corner of the stand. I used to go home and think, I want to play for this team and do that one day.
"In time we can definitely win things at the Blues, especially with the strategy that is in place here now, giving Danny [Wilson] so much time and with the squad of players we've now got.
"Look at Glasgow and how they have grown slowly over the past four years. They got to the stage where they won the PRO12, but it didn't just happen overnight. Hopefully, we can do something like that.
"I want to be loyal to Cardiff in the way that Martyn Williams was during his career. I really like that and that's why I wanted to stay here.
"I'd find it a lot more satisfying to win things here than move to another club and achieve it there."
