Their opponents didn't have the same luck on their first continental outing with a 48-10 defeat to London Irish but Solomons knows they will be a different beast on home soil.
It's been a mixed season so far for Edinburgh with four GUINNESS PRO12 wins in their first seven matches leaving them seventh in the table.
And, while Solomons knows the recent tragedy in France will make for an emotionally challenging atmosphere, he is calling for focus from his squad as they look to add another win to their tally.
"We know the atmosphere at Friday's game will be emotionally charged and will respect our hosts in reflecting on those involved," he said.
"Our focus will be on our match and our performance. While we took the win over FC Grenoble there were parts of our game where we fell short and we've worked hard in training this week to improve those areas.
"Although Agen lost away from home to London Irish last weekend we know that French teams are a different animal in front of their home support and know we'll need to really put in a performance on Friday."
