It remains to be seen whether interim Wales head coach Rob Howley has dropped Warburton, who has struggled for form with Cardiff Blues this season, or has rested his skipper.
But Tipuric, 23, insists the greater good of the team is more important that the individuals.
"Sam is a quality player and it is hard to try and win the jersey but personally I just try and do my job for the team," said Tipuric.
"It's obviously harder when you are playing in the same position as your captain.
"Rugby is a team sport and if the team is playing well, you know you are doing your job.
"It's simple. It's about the 15 on the field, rather than individuals.
"We are just players and we want to play rugby - the coaches pick the team. As a player, you just want to play rugby."
