After a spell in the Championship with the Doncaster Knights, he returned to Viadana last season but has been called in by Umberto Casellato as Treviso deal with a number of injuries in their front row.
"I'm delighted to be back at Treviso, this time for good," said Santamaria.
"I hope to do a good job and to be able to contribute in an important way with my new teammates and in a squad where I want to get some satisfaction.
"I'm grateful to Viadana for allowing me to join despite the championship being ongoing. I also have a thought for the teammates I'm leaving behind and the fans, who have always been great and helped me to perform at my best."
Santamaria joins a Treviso side that is still searching for a first win of the season in all competitions.
They almost knocked off GUINNESS PRO12 champions Glasgow Warriors last weekend, but conceded a late try and had to settle for a losing bonus point at Scotstoun.
This weekend they host the in-form Scarlets as they seek to put an end to their losing run.
