Wales wing Alex Cuthbert scored a last-gasp converted try to secure a 29-27 win over Scarlets - their third league triumph in a row that keeps them in ninth but closes the gap on the top half.
And Wilson is confident that his team's patch of good form can continue.
"It was a good derby," said Wilson. "It was exciting and that is important for rugby in Wales, that these games in front of packed houses are good to watch. I felt we put on an exciting game.
"I am extremely proud of this squad of players and it's another win. It's been ten years and over since Blues have had two wins at this time of year in derby games and we've achieved that.
"It's a five-pointer, scoring four tries, to hopefully give us a springboard and help us climb the league."
The Blues had to fight back from a ten-point deficit at half-time, with Ken Owens and DTH van der Merwe crossing for the visitors.
But in a see-saw second half that saw Scarlets suffered quickfire sin-bins to Steffan Evans and Emyr Phillips, Rhys Patchell completed the fightback by kicking the extras to Cuthbert's match-winning try.
And Wilson admits it took another performance of real grit following similarly slender victories over Connacht and Newport Gwent Dragons.
"We were down on the scoreboard, but we showed real heart and fight for something they believe in. We came away with the win and Christmas derbies are always end to end," he added.
"That is four wins out of five for us now and we showed be credited not questioned about how they got there."
