But following back-to-back defeats against Italian rivals Zebre Rugby, including Sunday's 18-8 home defeat, Treviso have opted for a change at the top.
A statement on the club's official website confirmed: "Benetton Rugby and Umberto Casellato ended their relationship that was started in July 2014.
"To Umberto we extend our best wishes for his future activities.
"The role of head coach will be entrusted to Marius Goosen."
Goosen, 41, takes charge for the first time when Treviso travel to BT Murrayfield on Friday to take on Edinburgh Rugby.
And president Amerino Zatta is adamant that Treviso "will end the season with Goosen".
