The scrum-half has turned out seven times so far this season, though there is plenty of competition for places in Anthony Foley's side with Conor Murray also vying for the number nine spot.
It's been a mixed GUINNESS PRO12 season so far for the Munstermen with seven wins from 11 leaving them lurking just outside the play-off positions.
But, following their European exit, O'Leary says the full attention will be on the league and their next encounter with Zebre on Saturday.
"Unfortunately we're out of the Champions Cup, as are Ulster and Leinster, so all three teams will be reverting their focus back on the domestic league," he told RTE.
"I had a fantastic few years away in London, a different experience and different league.
"It's great to be home. I'm really enjoying being back and challenging Conor Murray for the shirt.
"My sole focus is on the red jersey of Munster. I'd love to play with Ireland but realistically I've to try and concentrate on Munster and enjoy the privilege of playing in the red jersey."
