By texting the word JUMPER to 50300 a €4 donation was made direct to CRY and the great work they do raising awareness of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland took over the Ulster game in the Guinness PRO12, provided a brilliant choir and used the game to launch their 'Rugby Memories' initiative.
The initiative called upon people in rugby clubs all over Leinster and Ireland to reach out into their communities and to reconnect with those that had lost touch with their community, their rugby club and with the support structures therein due to dementia.
Both charities raised just shy of €5,000 from the bucket collections each and would like to extend a massive thank you to all the Leinster and indeed Wasps and Ulster fans who supported the initiatives at the games.
Further information on both charities can be found at www.cry.ie and www.alzheimer.ie.
Leinster Rugby and Leinster Rugby players were also busy in the lead up to Christmas supporting other well-known causes and charities.
Isaac Boss and former star Shane Jennings were on hand to Light Up LauraLynn and to help promote Ireland's only children's hospice. Jack McGrath lent a hand and a voice to Pieta House on International Men's Day and their #TheBounce project. Jamie Heaslip was on hand to launch the GOAL Mile Christmas events calendar with GOAL mile events being held all over the country on Christmas morning.
Mick Kearney, a long time ambassador for Ataxia Ireland helped announce the date for their Cycle Ataxia 2016 event as the 18th June 2016. Rhys Ruddock continued his sterling work with www.ReachOut.com this time supporting the good folk in Greystones RFC with their #100TonneChallenge. While Rob Kearney and Eoin Reddan were on hand to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Irish Youth Foundation and starred in a specially commissioned video and song by Paul Brady entitled 'Forever Young'.
Finally, over the last few weeks Leinster Rugby has helped out a further 15 charities through the online application form www.leinsterrugby.ie/charitypartners
