Benetton Treviso now have ten players in Italy's 31-man party, including the previously uncapped back row Abraham Steyn.
Italy rugby confirmed: "It has been confirmed that, replacing Ghiraldini, will be Benetton Treviso hooker Davide Giazzon, who joins club colleague Ornel Gega, one of ten debutants called up by coach Jacques Brunel, for the first two rounds of the Six Nations, on February 6 in Paris against France and on February 14 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome against England (broadcast live and on free-to-air on DMAX channel 52 and Deejay TV channel 9)."
