This weekend they travel to Connacht, who have title aspirations of their own this season, and take with them a favourable record in recent meetings.
Indeed, Connacht have beaten the Scarlets just once in their last eight encounters - 14-8 in this fixture last season - most recently earlier this month to extend the Irish outfit's winless run in the league to four.

Patchell currently has 118 points to his name - Benetton Treviso's Jayden Hayward is next best with 94 - while the Blues are the competition's leading try-scorers with 31.
Edinburgh, meanwhile, saw a five-match winning run come to an end with defeat in Grenoble last weekend and could finish the weekend top of the table if they bounce back in Cardiff.
Zebre will go in search of their third straight GUINNESS PRO12 win for the first time in the club's history when Munster visit Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi.
The Munstermen, however, have tasted victory in each of their last nine games against Italian opposition in all competitions.
Benetton Treviso are still seeking their first win of the campaign and they host Ulster on Saturday - victory would be their first against an Irish province since Connacht came to Italy in October 2013.
They have beaten Ulster before, in Belfast in October 2011, but not on the other 16 times these two sides met.
And Leinster will put their seven-match winning run in the GUINNESS PRO12 to the test when they visit Newport Gwent Dragons tonight.
