So team manager Andrea De Rossi this week welcomed back scrum-half Azzolini and wing Souare, following their time time playing for Fiamme Oro Rugby and Rugby Viadana 1970 respectively.
De Rossi said: "Unlike last year in this window, during the Six Nations we will use only a few permitted players. This is because of the team we have built in the summer with the precise goal to remain competitive despite losing many to the national squad.
"We appreciate so much the work done by the guys in the team who have played less; the proof is the good performance against Munster by Emiliano Caffini and Guillermo Roan.
"The return of Maicol Azzolini is the confirmation of what we saw earlier in the season when he was playing continuously at a high standard. He has shown his quality.
"As for Abou Souare, he has been increasingly involved with neighbouring Rugby Viadana 1970. We believe Abou is one of the best Italian emerging wings. He is showing that he deserves a chance at this level.
"We thank the two clubs of Rugby Viadana 1970 and Fiamme Oro Rugby for their help, particularly [Fiamme Oro Rugby president] Dr. Armando Forgione who is always very sensitive to the growth of the best young Italians."
