Treviso remain at the foot of the table, seven points adrift of fellow Italians Zebre - who have a game in hand.
And Crowley, who left his role as Canada boss in January after eight years, believes Treviso are better than their position at the foot of the table suggests.
Crowley, who won the World Cup as a player with New Zealand, said: "My presence didn't make a difference but the win was well-deserved and the team earned it with great defence in the last 20 minutes.
"The boys and the coaches work hard and this is their reward.
"I have seen some of the other games on film and there were times when the win was in reach, the table doesn't tell the full story of the strength of this squad."
He continued: "For now I've just met the president (Amerino) Zatta and the sporting director Antonio Pavanello. For the staff we haven't made any decisions yet. I think that it would be right to put our faith in Italian coaches."
