But there is no better way for the Warriors to potentially kickstart their season than a rematch of last year's final with Munster - at Rugby Park in front of Sky Sports cameras tonight.
Indeed it was only nine months ago that a Finn Russell-inspired Glasgow downed Munster 31-13 in the Kingspan Stadium's GUINNESS PRO12 finale.
And how they would love to return to this year's showpiece, as the final is set to be hosted in the Scottish capital at BT Murrayfield on Saturday 28 May.
Their current position in the GUINNESS PRO12 table could prove a false one, as the Warriors have two games in hand that they can use to eat into the 14-point gap between them and the top four.
It is equally as crucial a game for Munster as they too have a game in hand over most of their rivals and currently sit seven points back from the play-off spots in sixth.
IN WITH THE NEW?
The Rugby World Cup may have thrown a cat among the pigeons early on in the season but it speaks of Connacht's staying power that they now can be talked about as genuine title contenders.
Connacht have also had to contend with an injury crisis that saw them short of 23 players at one point this season and having come out of the other side, are closing in on a top four finish for the first time in their history.
Scarlets are also on course for a semi-final after a three-year absence - and they have a six-point buffer on fifth-placed Edinburgh, who have taken another big step under Alan Solomons this year.
Meanwhile, a storied Leinster side are comfortably perched in third and Ospreys, after a run of five defeats from six to start the season, should not be counted out due to their drastically improved form.
Undoubtedly there will be more twists and turns before two teams trot out at BT Murrayfield - what's your prediction?
