That triumph lifted them, temporarily at least, to seventh in the GUINNESS PRO12 table - seven points behind Ulster in fifth and Glasgow Warriors in sixth.
The PRO12's leading scorer Rhys Patchell ran the show from full-back, dotting down for one of the eight tries while Ellis Jenkins, Josh Navidi, Rey Lee-Lo, Kristian Dacey, Manoa Vosawai, Tom James and Dan Fish got the others.
Treviso's defence held firm in the first half to restrict Cardiff to a 17-3 lead at the break, although the tide turned after the interval.
And Wilson was impressed by the way his side took his half-time adjustments on board to put the game to bed in the second period.
"Second half we certainly upped our game in terms of our attacking shape and our ability to cause them problems with our high tempo rugby on this pitch was very evident," said Wilson.
"The boys always play well on this pitch and again they have gone out there and put in a performance and scored some great tries.
"We have also had no injuries which are always good and is the important bit, while at least for one day we jump above Ospreys in the table and give ourselves the opportunity to do something in this league this season.
"We have spoken as a group and everyone needs to remember we started the season with five away games on the bounce and it put us in a position where we started very badly.
"We know where we are now, we knew we had home games coming up and we have won those fixtures, Ulster, Munster and tonight - it's given us an opportunity to get into the top six. We know we're good on this surface and again we have proven it."
