Saturday's match will be the Leinstermen's 15th at the Aviva Stadium but their only loss at the ground did come against the Red Army back in October 2014.
Leinster will hope Isa Nacewa's quest to topple Matt Healy at the top of the try scoring table will lead to a flurry of points from the back as he looks for the two tries needed to draw level with the Connacht man.
A hat-trick for Nacewa would not only put him above Healy but also see the Fiji international reach 25 career tries in the GUINNESS PRO12.
Munster's away form suggests Leinster face a struggle to do the double though as the Red Army are one of only four PRO12 sides to win five games on the road this season.
The other all-Irish tie this round sees leaders Connacht take on Ulster at the Kingspan Stadium on Friday night.
Ulster's only win in the last four rounds of action came with a 32-0 victory against Zebre but the fifth-placed side have not lost to their Irish rivals since April 2012, and not been defeated by them in Belfast since 1960.
Connacht wing Healy leads the GUINNESS PRO12 try-scoring ranks with nine but Ulster's Craig Gilroy is in a group of five players sat just behind him on six and poised for a late-season run to try and topple the Connacht winger.
The visitors' Craig Ronaldson will also be looking for a strong performance from the kicking tee as he chases the Dragons' James Tovey for the Rhino Golden Boot award, awarded for the highest kicking percentage.
In Wales the Scarlets will be looking to strengthen their hold on a semi-final spot as they take on the Cardiff Blues at the Parc y Scarlets on Saturday.
The home side have lost just once in five PRO12 rounds, in Edinburgh last month, and victory should ensure qualification for next season's European Champions Cup.
The last six GUINNESS PRO12 meetings between the two sides have seen spoils shared - each side have won three each.
Blues' only away victory this season came against Ospreys in round eight but they did edge the season's previous meeting with Scarlets 29-27 at Cardiff Arms Park.
A win for Blues would see them complete their first GUINNESS PRO12 double over Scarlets in six years.
Scarlets' Aled Jones currently sits in third place in the Rhino Golden Boot competition, having kicked his last four attempts at goal, but is still seven per cent behind Dragons' Jason Tovey.
The other Welsh regional affair sees Newport Gwent Dragons take on Ospreys in a Friday-fixture at Rodney Parade.
With both sides seemingly out of the hunt for a semi-final spot it will be Welsh pride left to play for as Dragons look for their first GUINNESS PRO12 win against another region since Boxing Day 2014.
Neither side are in the best of form with Dragons winning just once in nine GUINNESS PRO12 fixtures and Ospreys on a three game losing run.
Should Dragons get the home win on Friday it will be just the second time Ospreys have lost four GUINNESS PRO12 games on the bounce.
Away form has been key to keeping Ospreys out of the lower reaches of the table and in lower-mid table security this season, with four wins on the road.
As well as going for the win, Dragons' Jason Tovey will be keen to keep his lead at top of the Rhino Golden Boot standings.
The fly-half missed his last kick but has been successful with 28 of his 34 attempts this season to hold a comfortable lead against his nearest challenger Craig Ronaldson.
Elsewhere, Edinburgh will be looking to keep their semi-final hopes alive as they welcome Zebre to BT Murrayfield.
The Scots will be hoping for a clearer margin of victory than their recent performances with three of their last five GUINNESS PRO12 games having been decided by a single point.
Of those five they recorded wins over Dragons and Scarlets, but also lost out by the narrowest of margins to Wayne Pivac's men.
Edinburgh have not lost at home in the GUINNESS PRO12 to anyone other than Irish provinces since falling to Cardiff Blues in April 2014, and will be hopeful of extending that run against the struggling Italians.
History suggests Edinburgh will not have it their own way though as Zebre have won three of the last four PRO12 encounters between the two sides.
However form favours the Scots as Zebre have lost six GUINNESS PRO12 matches on the bounce and not even registered a point in 167 minutes.
Damien Hoyland will hope to add to his tally of six tries so far this season, as will Zebre's Dries van Schalkwyk, but the win will be top priority for Edinburgh if they want a shot at the GUINNESS PRO12 title.
The second clash between Italian and Scottish teams sees Benetton Treviso take on Glasgow Warriors at Stadio Monigo.
Treviso come into the game on a three game GUINNESS PRO12 losing streak and have not beaten Scottish opposition since beating Edinburgh in March 2014.
Glasgow, on the other hand, are in a rich vein of form having won five on the bounce. Should they take the points in Italy it will be the first time since October 2014 that they have won successive GUINNESS PRO12 matches on the road.
The record books are in their favour though as Treviso have not beaten Edinburgh in their last eight attempts, since they triumphed 15-13 at Firhill in September 2011.
Glasgow fly-half Rory Clegg will also hope to improve his kicking percentage having missed his last five attempts at the post.
