The Blues will now go into their Judgement Day fixture at Principality Stadium against the Ospreys with a serious chance of a top-six finish in the Guinness PRO12.
"It's extremely tight now and it's all going to come down to the wire," Wilson said.
"It's an exciting way to finish. We spoke about derbies being a priority and we want to get respect back from derbies and we've achieved that.
"We also spoke about our home venue becoming a difficult place for opposition to come and we've lost just two league games here all year which is quite an achievement.
"We're starting to get a bit of passion at Cardiff Blues and BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park, which is really important because it's a passionate support that wants to see a winning side."
Gareth Anscombe, who scored 18 points, was also highlighted by Wilson post-match for his performance.
In addition to his late try, it was Wales international Anscombe's clever chip which was taken by Rey Lee-Lo for the Blues' second after Jordan Turnbull had scored early.
"He (Gareth Anscombe) is a great professional," Wilson added.
"He has a great understanding of the game and mixes his ability to put the ball through his hands, play with shape and the kicking game with his ability to beat people one on one.
"He makes sure defences stay honest and if they don't he will find gaps and score or make breaks which he did a couple of times."
