The Dragons have won just one of their last eight games in the RaboDirect PRO12 which has left them second bottom in the league while in Europe they lost both their Amlin Challenge Cup games during the break.
Their two defeats in Europe came in agonising circumstances as a late Mike Phillips try snatched victory away against Bayonne and London Wasps clung on to a 20-19 win despite a rally from Edwards' men.
And while the manner of the defeats were tough to take, Edwards was spurred on by his team's performances.
"We've just got to get over this hurdle," he said. "We'll keep battling hard and I believe we will get there.
"There are enough points out there to get the win and we're just not taking them.
"We played a very good team that's in good form in the English Premiership, so when you're getting close to those sort of teams you've just got to keep on driving hard.
"You can only question your team when they lack attitude. But when they show the attitude they did, then all we can do is work on the technical areas."
