The 33-year-old failed to appear after half-times against the Ospreys in the LV= Cup and will miss the Dragons' next game against London Welsh but is scheduled to return for their RaboDirect PRO12 game against Treviso on February 8.
The lock, who was voted the Dragons' player of the season in the 2011/12 campaign, has appeared seven times in the league this season leaving Beale delighted he wouldn't be facing a lengthy lay-off.
"It's a big relief because we anticipated the lay-off would be a lot longer," Beale told the South Wales Argus.
"Rob has a wealth of experience and is on top of his game, so it's a major boost.
"Ian Nimmo only came back from injury last week and it seems to be our luck that one player returns and another is ruled out, but at least injury isn't too bad."
