On Friday they went down 37-6 to high-flying Glasgow Warriors and Beale revealed that the coaching staff were working very hard to turn things around ahead of the start of the Anglo-Welsh Cup.
Beale told Wales Online: "The coaches reflected on it and they continually question what they are doing.
"They believe in processes and like to hang their hats on putting them in place, to make sure their values and goals are there.
"But there's been a lot of soul-searching over the weekend to look at, in terms of their performance and that of the players.
"This is just not a coaching issue, it's an environment issue and where we currently are.
"We have got a young coaching group, which I believed was exciting and I am still of that opinion.
"It's tough at the moment, very difficult. The only thing they can do is convince the players to deliver on the field what the coaches want.
"We are working hard during the week and a heck of a lot of analysis goes on. I think it's a case of battling on."
