The South African international, who joined from Super Rugby side Golden Lions in the summer, has terrified opposition players and thrilled fans with his devastating pace and news of his fondness of the RaboDirect PRO12 style is hardly likely to ease those fears.
The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the campaign, but after notching five league tries in 11 appearances so far this season he insists the help of his teammates - and the improving weather - may swing his decision to stay at Rodney Parade.
"I've enjoyed my time here, the play is really positive in the RaboDirect PRO12 and my agent is still in talks about my future with Dragons," said Chavhanga, who has been capped four times by the Springboks.
"It has been an awesome season, and a real change for me coming here, but I've been very fortunate my teammates have welcomed me and it's been really easy to adapt.
"The last few weeks have been more like home, when I arrived it was pretty wet and for want of a better word, miserable.
"I took a lot of time to adapt because before I left, to be honest, I was expecting the worst, but things have been great.
"The game here is more forwards dominated but over the past few games the games have been really fast and I've managed to get the ball in hand and run."
His match-winning display against Edinburgh last Friday, when he crossed the line twice in the opening 16 minutes in a 29-15 victory, earned Dragons their fourth RaboDirect PRO12 win in five games.
But despite some impressive personal displays, Chavhanga rued the early-season form that all but ended their play-off hopes before they began.
He added: "There have been a number of games we could have won or should have done better and we didn't capitalise on the games we ended up losing.
"We could have seen ourselves in a much higher position most certainly, but that's all in the past and we have to finish the season strongly.
"It's always nice for any winger to score tries, but a huge amount of credit has to go to my teammates because they put me in the positions to score.
"The important thing for me is the team, that always comes first and if a few tries from me in the process help with that then great."
