Back in Wales and flanker Lydiate meanwhile has been named in Newport's 28-man squad for the RaboDirect PRO12 clash with Connacht at Rodney Parade on Friday night.
And head coach Edwards relayed that Lydiate knew nothing of the rumours circulating in France and that he is adamant he won't be leaving the Dragons any time soon.
"I think all that Dan is concerned with is getting back to work with the Dragons and he is excited by the game with Connacht on Friday," Edwards told the South Wales Argus.
"When he comes out of contract there will be massive interest in him, no doubt about it, but Dan has got a year to run and he is 100 per-cent going to be here next season.
"I think it's becoming old news now - any good player in any team in the country is apparently moving to France.
"But when I asked Dan about it he said the first thing that he knew about it was when his dad rang him after reading it somewhere."
