But against Treviso they were outclassed with the Italian side racking up five tries through Christian Loamanu (2), Edoardo Gori, Luke McClean and Tobias Botes in a 32-13 win.
The Dragons were left to count the cost of their indiscipline as Will Harries was sin-binned for a deliberate knock-on in the first half, and shown a red in the second, after a second yellow on the hour.
Rob Prydie notched all of the Dragons points, but they couldn't deny Treviso the winning bonus point - and Edwards was left bemoaning his side's luck.
"When the chips are down you don't get the breaks that you might get if you are on a roll," said Edwards. "And we're not getting any breaks at the moment.
"But we have to make sure we keep working hard, stay positive, and I'm sure the breaks will come.
"We had thought that maybe we had turned a corner against Connacht, but this has shown us that we still have a lot to do."
