Here he tells us why Shane Williams was his idol and why Scott Andrews is the worst roommate to have on tour.
What are your nicknames?
The lads are pretty unoriginal so I'm pretty much just known as Will here. I'm not going to complain that they have let me off though.
If you weren't playing rugby what would you want to be?
When I was younger I used to go snowboarding most years and it was always an ambition of mine to do a ski season. As a rugby player we all have it written into our contracts that we can't go skiing but it was something I used to really enjoy.
Who are your rugby heroes?
I used to watch Shane Williams when I was growing up I was a similar size at the time so I'd think if he can do it then there is no reason I can't. If he could take the hits then it's not impossible. I then got to mark him in a few games before playing alongside him for Wales. That was an incredible feeling.
Who has been your worst ever roommate?
Cardiff Blues prop Scott Andrews definitely wins this one. We were sharing a room at a Wales camp and he was snoring so loudly that I had to take my blanket and go and sleep in the bathroom. He got quite a shock when he got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Who's your gym buddy?
Generally I'll train with Pat Leach and Ashley Smith. We are all about the same size and have similar programmes to follow so it makes sense.
Which rugby player would you least like to meet down a dark alley?
I think Sonny Bill Williams would be pretty scary, he is absolutely massive. Otherwise it would probably be Sébastien Chabal. With his long hair and beard he's pretty intimidating.
What are your guilty 'diet' pleasures?
I have a real sweet tooth so I tend to eat a few things that I shouldn't. I'm a big fan of doughnuts and cookies so I'll usually have some of them when I can. The good thing with training is that you can kind of get away with it, although it's probably not great for the energy levels.
What do you get up to on a day off?
I spend quite a lot of time walking the dog, we have a French bulldog so that keeps me pretty busy and gets me out and about. Other than that we will quite often meet up with the boys and go for some food somewhere.
If you had a theme tune to walk out to (like in Twenty20 cricket) what would it be?
I think I'd have to go for Stronger by Kanye West. I quite like his music and that would be good to get you pumped up as you come out.
What other hobbies do you have?
I play a bit of golf when I can. We obviously have the Celtic Manor just down the road although I've only actually played there once. It didn't go too badly either.
What newspaper do you read?
I have the Daily Mail app on my iPad so I tend to just stick to that for my news. Otherwise I don't really read the papers.
Who is your favourite rugby pundit?
It's quite a tough one and not too many spring to mind but I do like Gareth Charles when he is commentating the games in Wales. I'd say he is pretty good.
Do you have any superstitions?
I'm not too bad although I try to eat at the same time every day. I also like to have a can of Red Bull about 20 minutes before a game.
