However, the Blues have now moved back to their traditional base in the city centre, where they played two RaboDirect PRO12 games last season.
Warburton, a boyhood regular at the Arms Park, was determined to make the most of the relocation - starting with a pre-season fixture against Worcester this Saturday before the league opener at Connacht on September 1.
"We want a really good home record this season," the 23-year-old told walesonline. "That means making it a really difficult place for the opposition to come and play.
"Hopefully now we can make it a fortress for the season and that starts against Worcester.
"I've only had two games at the Arms Park, right at the end of the season before we moved to the City Stadium.
"I used to have a season ticket down there as a kid, so it's a very special place for me and I'm really looking forward to getting back there again."
