And the wing, who helped himself to a try in his second game against the Gunners, could now be in line to make his debut when Scotland face off against England at Twickenham.
Maitland might have been born in New Zealand and played most of his rugby there too, but the Warrior, whose granddad was a Glaswegian welder, is hopeful he gets to prove just how Scottish he is next weekend.
"Obviously, we've got England at Twickenham first up and to be involved in that would be incredible," Maitland told The Scotsman.
"I definitely know that it's on the bucket list for the boys to get a win down there.
"I'm so blessed that I have this opportunity. I know I'm only in the door but I'm proud of my Scottish heritage.
"My granddad always reminded me that I was part-Scottish and that I should never forget that."
