He re-joined the Warriors set-up alongside his fellow internationals this week with the club season just over a month away.
Grant said: "It's often the toughest time of the season in terms of pure physical work-load but I enjoy it.
"We set the bar pretty high at the Warriors in terms of physical fitness and our ability to cope with the demands of a long season and we know we need to keep it at that level for the coming season, it's what's expected of us."
Grant was lauded for his performances last season at club level and took that form to the national stage where he performed with increasing aplomb following a first start versus Australia.
Commenting on his summer exploits, Grant said: "I think I did ok on the tour but I want to keep improving. Any of the boys here are capable of starting in the front-row for the Warriors so I need to work hard and keep building on the performances of the summer and of last season.
"We know what we're capable of as a group and we want to achieve something that no other Scottish professional side has managed to do, win a trophy."
