But with the Tongan-born 21-year-old ruled out of the match against Munster through an ankle injury, Brown took the opportunity to produce an excellent running display.
Brown's punishing performance was one of the high points during a 33-13 loss and the former Cardiff Blue, who has one Wales cap to his name in Rugby League, was itching to get back into action with Edinburgh next up.
"I got a lot of ball and would like more - getting the ball in my hands and running at people is what I love," he told The South Wales Argus.
"It felt really good out there and hopefully I took my chance. My fitness was there and my work rate was there, so hopefully that will mean more opportunities come my way."
The Dragons return home to Rodney Parade for the first time since their tough 16-5 defeat to rivals Blues with the pain of a poor performance still fresh in the memory.
But Brown called on his side to find their fight again and face the powerful Scottish side head on.
"We need to move on after the Blues game, we have to make home a fortress, to be relentless," he said.
"All the boys really enjoyed the confrontation against Munster, they tried to bully us but I feel that we stood up to them physically.
"We showed heart and we need to show more against Edinburgh."
