Ryder's performances in the second row were crucial and he did not go unnoticed, having been named in the RaboDirect PRO12 Season 2011/12 Dream Team.
And while the Warriors exceeded pre-season expectations by coming so close to a place in the final, Ryder, who is set to make his international debut on Scotland's summer tour of the southern hemisphere, is desperate for improvements next season.
"There was disappointment, we did have a real opportunity and it was only 9-3 with 25 minutes to go, we came very close," Ryder told www.glasgowwarriors.org.
"The only way you can get through these situations is look back on it and think about what went wrong and improve.
"We've got some good new additions to the squad and we're moving to Scotstoun and get a real rugby atmosphere here and I'm looking forward to it."
