Their consistency over the regular season means they need a mere three points in their final three matches to guarantee finishing on top of the table and putting themselves in prime position for a home draw in the Magners League Grand Final on Saturday, 28 May.
They have already equalled the record number of victories in a season with 16, a record they share with the Scarlets (2003/04) and Ospreys (2004/05), and one more victory between this weekend and Friday, 6 May will give them the record outright.
With 71 points amassed this season, Munster have already past their previous record of 69 points in a campaign, set in 2008/09, and need just six more to take the Magners League record. That stands at 76, held by the Scarlets (2003/04) and the Ospreys (2004/05).
Edinburgh's Tim Visser needs just one more try to take the Magners League try record for a season. The Dutch-born wing has notched 12 tries this season to equal the record held jointly by Welsh duo Jamie Robinson (2003/04) and Kevin Morgan (2004/05).
It is the second season in a row Visser finds himself heading the season try scoring list, having taken took top honours in 2009/10 with 10 tries to earn himself a place in the 2010 Magners League Dream Team.
If Visser finishes the season in first place, it will be the third season in a row a player from one of the two Scottish sides finished the season as leading try scorer. Glasgow's Tom Evans headed the list in 2008/09.
Wales centre Jonathan Davies is currently second with nine tries, but he has been ruled out of action this weekend with a dead-leg meaning third-placed Aled Brew (8) has a chance to reduce the deficit.
Ospreys fly-half Dan Biggar has already amassed more points than the 205 which earned him second place in last season's point scorers list, with the Magners League winner scoring 220 points to date this season.
That total is 67 short of Felipe Contempomi's all time record of 287 points in a season held since 2005/06. If the Ospreys can replicate last season's success and make it to the Magners League Grand Final, based on Biggar's average of just under 13 points a game there is a chance the young Welshman could take the honour from the Argentinean.
Connacht's Ian Keatley continues to enhance his growing reputation and his 195 points this season is a new personal record and has taken him to second in the season's point scoring list.
He is just two goals behind Biggar in goals scored this season, 68 to 70 respectively and his tally leaves him eighth in the all-time list of goals scored in season, which is headed by Neil Jenkins with 99 back in 2004/04
