Steve Tandy stepped into the breach and under his stewardship the Welsh outfit have won six from eight in the RaboDirect PRO12, including a current five-match unbeaten run.
And McGahan, whose Munster side are set to be without captain Paul O'Connell for the clash, has been impressed by what he has seen from the Ospreys under Tandy.
In particular the Australian, who will be leaving Munster at the end of the season, highlighted the passion that Tandy has injected into his troops.
"I think the Ospreys are in a good position, they have moved on their coaching staff but they made a decision very early on, straight after the Heineken Cup," he said.
"The club have been in transition since then with their players and the way they have played accordingly since they seem to have a lot of passion and spirit.
"They've already got things well in motion to make a big assault on next year.
"But the way they have conducted themselves recently has been terrific and they're certainly aiming to win a title this year, there's no doubt about that."
